How/why does a New Hampshire based group have enough muscle to launch an anti-Islamic advertising campaign in Philadelphia - the city with arguably the largest concentration of black muslims in the country???!!!
The Muslims should/must boycott SEPTA - EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE NOT (DIRECTLY) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ADS! When the loss of revenue is significant they will do whatever is necessary to stop losing cash. HAVE WE NOT LEARNED ANYTHING FROM THE MONTGOMERY BUS BOYCOTT?
I can imagine looking at the sister or brother who paid their fare, purchased the transpass, token or whatever while sitting on the trolley or bus and looking down at the ad on the side making mockery of what they believe in!!!
What are the Muslims doing? Getting involved with more interfaith dialogue and spending more money they don't have!
Trust me, if even half of the Muslims refused to ride SEPTA they would revise policy, change and amend any law necessary to stop losing money!
But, a boycott would require organization, a return to the masjids (to organize alternative transportation for the believers to get to school, work, etc. ..), and real brotherhood (we would have to alter our comfort levels in order to share cars, etc. ..)
Black Christians did this in the south over 50 years ago and they had less material wealth (like cars) than we do! Black muslims have explicit commands from Allah in the Qur'an and the Prophet Muhammad in his sunnah to be unified and to help each other (all Muslims have this command, but this fitnah is a test which directly impacts black muslims)!
Are the black Christians of 50 and 60 years ago more disciplined, united and organized than the black Muslim of today?
Have we not learned anything from the Seerah regarding harnessing our buying power to prevent others from harming us?
